
About Menghun Kaing
Menghun Kaing is a public policy professional. She joined The Carter Center in 2025 as a Senior Associate Director, Foundations, Corporations, and Government Relations. Previously at Internews Network, Menghun focused on developing programs with US partners. Menghun began her policy career at the Asia Foundation, where she focused on economic development programs for Cambodia’s women and youth. During her time at the Asia Foundation, Menghun managed their Phnom Penh-based startup incubator and received the 2017 Presidential Award for Exceptional Performance. Prior to her policy work she was a journalist at the English-language Cambodia Daily newspaper. Menghun has a BA in computer science from the Royal University of Phnom Penh and an MA from the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy. Menghun has been honored as an Aspen Ideas Festival Fellow (2022), Pacific Forum Young Leader (2024), and McCain Global Leader (2026)
